Omega Automatic

My father recently passed away. While going through his things, I came across a 1979 Omega "Automatic" watch with date indicator. The watch has a gold case and was given to him for 25 years of service. The back of the watch had been replaced with the engraved back (name and years of service). I'm trying to get an idea of the model and if I can get another back, should I ever decide to replase the company engraved back with the appropriate Omega back. Sorry, I don't know much about watches. Any ideas? Thanks.
Answer:
I´m sorry to hear about your father. The watch in question is most likely a DeVille, it was a very populair watch for these kind of aniversaries! When it is this watch, it´s certainly a very nice watch! You can send Omega CH the numbers found inside the back and on the movement to be certain! In my own opinion, I should not change the back, it has a history and belonged to your father!
Good luck!
